Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Country Director will have overall responsibility for the development and management of the Haiti country business portfolio and day-to-day activities. This is achieved through the development and implementation of a country strategy, which is in line with SJC mission, vision, and values. This includes aligning businesses with SJC’s integral mission implementation strategies, the recruitment of requisite personnel; the evolving development of policies, structures, and systems; achieving revenue and profitability projections; and the development of strong future leaders that are a part of the SJC entrepreneur/leader development program. The Country Director will lead the senior management team and represent the organization with government, customers, and other local and international organizations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Extensive experience with working with US executive leadership and start-up businesses in Haiti, preferably in secondary Haitian markets (outside of PaP)
  • Direct involvement in a start-up business environment, preferably as a leader and/or business owner in that environment
  • Strong oral and communication skills in English. Knowledge of local languages is a plus
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and strong interpersonal skills

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mature and personal Christian faith (important and likely required but not criteria for elimination at this stage)
  • Fluent in English (must have) – written and verbal
  • Fluent in Haitian Creole (French is a plus)
  • Must reside currently, or willing to move to, Jacmel Haiti
  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of Saint-Jean Capital
  • University Degree in a related field. Masters’ degree preferred. Business management and leadership experience is highly valued
  • A minimum of five-ten years of experience in business management and leadership with progressively increasing responsibilities
